Celexa was shown to be effective in treating post-stroke depression and in alleviating emotional disturbances in elderly consumers with dementia disorders. You stop taking Celexa, you must wait at least 14 days after stopping an MAO inhibitor before you can take Celexa. Citalopram is given as a single oral dose of 20 mg daily. Celexa appears to be safe to use on a long-term basis and may cause less withdrawal when use is stopped.

Similar posts: celexa vs lexapro

The Disease Disorder Blog: Introducing Lung Cancer Pictures

The news about how to cure diabetes will come as a shock to the medical Establishment. But the science is now in after years of denial. Medicine has supported low-fat eating for decades, but we realize now that it did not work:

* people just got fatter and fatter

* diabetes rates climbed along with obesity -- they're usually coupled

* carbohydrates were considered innocuous and all the blame for disease fell on fat

Wow, cholesterol and fat were not the cause of diabetes. That's what I'm telling you. The research is just now coming in and the story is that it always was our much-loved carbohydrates that were doing the damage. And just not sugar, but fruits, and grains, and many vegetables. The low-fat dogma blinded otherwise brilliant people and blinded them.

How did it turn out that fat got blamed? There was one major bogus study published in 1953 that implicated fat and then that idea steam-rolled everyone and became the entrenched dogma. It's still believed here in 2009. But... fat was not the culprit and the evidence began to shake out by the mid-1980's that it was blood glucose arising from carbohydrates that was the villain.

Are you shocked? We've all been deluded because no one took the time to understand the basics. It was known by 1950 that the body aggressively converted carbohydrates to fat.

Starting during the early 2000's explosion of interest in low-carb, young, unbiased researchers set up some very good experiments to study the diet. What was the outcome? The results disproved all the negative statements that had been made during the last four decades:

* the low-carb diet out-performed the low-fat diet and the Mediterranean diet in weight loss and fat loss

* blood sugar levels, the main culprit in diabetes, plummeted

* fat levels in the blood dropped because of low-carb eating

* low-carb simply whipped low-fat!

The low-carb diet is just what a diabetic needs to solve this disease. And changes happen rapidly when you decrease carbohydrate intake. Fat-burning increases and sugar use drops while blood sugar drops dramatically. Just what the doctor should be ordering.

Syndrome X, also known as Metabolic Syndrome, is a constellation of symptoms indicating serious disturbances in health:

* too much body fat, overweight, and obesity

* disturbances in both fat and sugar metabolism that cause diabetes

* heart and vascular diseases

* elevated blood pressure

Recent studies show that carbohydrate-restriction might sensibly be the "default" diet to be tried FIRST for patients with Metabolic Syndrome. In the case of normal weight people with this condition, carbohydrate restriction may be the only effective non-drug approach for treating it.

The research is clear: the health-touting benefits of a low-fat diet were downright wrong and the science now stands behind this statement. The low-fat diet that was high in carbohydrates elevated blood fats and blood sugar leading to deadly changes in the health of the public.

Eating carbs and fat together is a prescription for disaster yet this is the way most people eat -- a balanced diet the "experts" call it. Wrong. Switch to low-carbohydrate but don't follow either the Atkins's diet or South Beach Diet. Atkins's plan if full of flaws and South Beach isn't even a low-carb diet.

Similar posts: cancer stages lung

Synergy II: Under 1 and 2 Construction

Okay - I've twisted his arm, but I honestly think it will be fascinating! Martin Toner, golf guru and mind-man will visit us on the morning of Tuesday, 21st of July for the next Juice session on balancing your work and your life. I've been aware for some time that the myriad of concerns - all the things that you have to do, and all the things that might possibly go wrong - can become paralysing for entrepreneurs. The mortgage payment competes with the technology prototype; the search for a plumber with the search for a funder, networking (IT) with networking(in person). If you stop to think about it all you might never get started again. And bizarrely, when I wondered what to do about this Martin popped into my head. You see, playing sport is a lot like this - when you stop to think you lose your momentum. And yet if you don't play smart, you will never be the best. Martin gets in the minds of athletes and helps them to do both - think, be smart, but don't get paralysed. Hope I'm not overselling it but really looking forward to the 21st.

Similar posts: synergy health

Luvox has ulterior ability to communicate with a-adrenergic, b-adrenergic, gistaminergicheskimi, muskarinovymi cholinergic, dofaminergicheskimi or serotoninergicheskimi receptors.

Pharmacokinetics

After ingestion Luvox completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration of drug in plasma observed after 3-8 hours after injection. The average half of the blood plasma of a single dose for 13-15 hours, some increases in the multiple admission (17-22 hours), and equilibrium concentrations in blood plasma (steady-state), usually achieved through a 10-14 days.

Luvox biotransformiruetsya in the liver (mainly through oxidative demethylation) to at least nine metabolites that appear through the kidneys. Two major metabolite have negligible pharmacological activity. Other pharmacologically inactive metabolites. Degree Luvox bind to proteins of human blood plasma is about 80% (in vitro).

Indications

Treatment and prevention of depressive disorders. Treatment of the symptoms of obsessive compulsive disorder.

Contraindications

Luvox pill contraindicated use in combination with inhibitors monoaminoksidazy (MAO inhibitors). The interval between the cancellation of the irreversible MAO inhibitor action and the start of treatment Luvoxom shall not be less than two weeks. Luvoxom treatment can be started the next day following the lifting of reversible inhibitor of MAO activity (eg, moklobemida). In principle, the interval between the cancellation and the start of treatment Luvox any MAO inhibitor should not be less than one week.

In addition, Luvox contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluvoksamina maleate, or to one of the fillers that make up the drug, as well as patients with marked liver disorders.

Children up to age 8 years.

The use during pregnancy and lactation period

Studies on reproduction in laboratory animals that received high doses of Luvox, revealed no reduction in fertility, sexual behavior and violations of teratogenic effects in their offspring. Nevertheless, it is necessary to observe the usual precautions regarding the use of any drugs during pregnancy. Luvox penetrate in small quantities in breast milk. In this regard, it is not applicable to the period of lactation.

Precautions and warnings

In patients with depression is typically a high likelihood of suicide attempts, which may be retained until a sufficient remission.

Treatment of patients suffering from hepatic or renal failure should start with low doses of Luvox under strict medical supervision. In rare cases, treatment Luvoxom can lead to an increase of enzyme activity of the liver, often accompanied by relevant clinical symptoms. In these cases Luvox should be abolished. Despite the fact that studies on laboratory animals fluvoksamin not cause convulsive activity, caution must be exercised in the appointment of the drug to patients with a history of seizures. Luvoxom Treatment should be discontinued in case of an epileptic seizure. Data obtained in the treatment of patients older and younger patients showed that there was no clinically significant differences between generally applicable to them daily doses. However, increasing doses of the drug in elderly patients should always be done slowly and with greater caution.

Luvox can lead to modest reductions in heart rate (by 2-6 beats per minute).

Due to the lack of clinical experience Luvox is not recommended for the treatment of depression in children.

There have been reports of such abnormal intradermal hemorrhages as ekhimoz and purpura observed in applying the election serotonin inhibitors reverse the seizure. There is a need for caution in designating these medicines, especially in the case of patients receiving both drugs acting on the function of platelets (eg, atypical antipsychotic, and means fenotiaziny, many tricyclic antidepressants, aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), as well as patients with a history of bleeding.

Interaction with other drugs

Luvox can not be used in combination with MAO inhibitors. Luvox may prolong the elimination of drugs, metaboliziruemyh by oxidation in the liver. Perhaps the clinically significant interactions with drugs, characterized by a narrow dose-effect "(eg, warfarin, phenytoin, teofillin, klozapin and carbamazepine).

Against the background of the application Luvox may be a slight increase in plasma concentrations of benzodiazepines, metaboliziruemyh in the liver by oxidation.

If you are applying Luvox previously observed increase of the stable levels of tricyclic antidepressants. In this regard, it is not advisable to appoint Luvox in combination with these drugs.

In studies of interactions Luvox indicated increasing concentrations of propranolol after the introduction of Luvox. In this regard, it is possible to recommend lowering doses of propranolol in the event of additional appointments Luvox.

In applying Luvox in combination with warfarin for two weeks, there was a significant increase of concentrations of warfarin in blood plasma, and prothrombin time prolongation. Thus, in patients receiving anticoagulants and inside Luvox should monitor the prothrombin time, and to select doses of anticoagulants.

Luvox does not interact with digoxin and atenolol.

Luvox used in combination with medications for the treatment of severe lithium patients responding poorly to drug therapy. It should be noted that lithium (and possibly tryptophan) enhances serotoninergicheskie Luvox effects, and therefore this kind of combination drug therapy should be undertaken with caution.

As with the use of other psychotropic drugs during treatment Luvoxom not advisable to consume alcohol.

Effects on ability to driving a car or in the management of machines and mechanisms

Luvox, appointed by the healthy volunteers in doses up to 150 mg, no effect on psychomotor functions related to driving a car or with the management of machines and mechanisms. At the same time, there are reports of sleepiness, observed during the treatment Luvoxom. In this regard, it is recommended to be cautious until the final determination of individual responses to medicine.

Dosing and Administration

Depression

The recommended starting dose is 50 or 100 mg (one-time, evening). We recommend a gradual increase starting dose to effective dose. The effective daily dose, usually 100 mg, selected individually depending on patient response to treatment. The daily dose can be as high as 300 mg. Daily intake of more than 150 mg should be distributed on multiple devices.

In accordance with official recommendations of the WHO treatment with antidepressants should be continued for at least 6 months after cure depressive episode.

To prevent a recurrence of depression are recommended to take 100 mg Luvox once a day.

Obsessive compulsive disorder.

We recommend that you start with a dose of 50 mg Luvox a day for 3-4 days. The effective daily dose is usually between 100 and 300 mg. Doses should increase gradually until an effective daily dose should not exceed 300 mg in adults. Doses up to 150 mg can be taken as a single dose, preferably at night. Daily intake of more than 150 mg is recommended to allocate up to 2 or 3 steps.

Doses for children over 8 years and adolescents:

Initial dose is 25 mg / day at a time. Maintenance dose of 50-200 mg / day. The daily dose should not exceed 200 mg. Daily intakes above 100 mg is recommended to allocate up to 2 or 3 steps.

When a good response to drug treatment may be continued by means of individually selected daily dose. If improvement is not achieved after 10 weeks of treatment, fluvoksamin should be repealed. Until now, there was no organized system of research that could answer the question about how long the treatment can be conducted fluvoksaminom, however, obsessive compulsive disorders are chronic in nature, and therefore can be considered a useful extension Luvoxom treatment beyond 10 weeks in patients with good responses to this drug. Selection of the minimum effective maintenance dose should be done with caution on an individual basis. Some clinicians recommend the concomitant psychotherapy in patients responding well to drug therapy.

Treatment of patients suffering from hepatic or renal failure should start with the lowest dose under strict medical supervision.

Tablets Luvox should not zapivaya razzhevyvaya and little water.

Adverse effects

The most frequent symptom, associated with the use of Luvox is nausea, sometimes accompanied by vomiting. This side effect, usually disappears in the first two weeks of treatment.

Other side effects observed in controlled clinical trials of more than 1% of patients and there is more often than with placebo were as follows:

* Central nervous system: drowsiness, dizziness, headache, insomnia, anxiety, psychomotor agitation, anxiety, tremor;
* Digestive tract: constipation, anorexia, dyspepsia, diarrhea, unpleasant sensations in the epigastrium, dry mouth, feeling of discomfort;
* Skin: increased sweating;
* Other: asthenia, palpitation, tachycardia.

As with the application of other polling serotonin inhibitors reverse capture rarely observed transient hyponatremia, terminated after the abolition of Luvox. In some cases it may be due to syndrome of inappropriate secretion antidiureticheskogo hormone. Most reports were associated with the treatment of patients with senile age.

Hemorrhage: See "Safety precautions and warnings."

Sometimes there may be an increase or decrease in body weight.

In rare cases, symptoms such as headache, nausea, dizziness and anxiety, there were sharply after the abolition of Luvox.

Some of the above-mentioned undesirable phenomena can be symptoms of depression and do not necessarily caused by Luvoxom.

Overdosage

Symptoms

The most characteristic symptoms include gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting and diarrhea), drowsiness and dizziness. In addition, there are reports of violations of cardiac (tachycardia, bradycardia, arterial hypotension), liver dysfunction, convulsions and even coma.

So far received over 300 reported cases of intentional overdose Luvox. The highest recorded dose Luvox received one patient was 10 000 mg; this patient was cured as a result of a purely symptomatic treatment. More serious complications were observed in cases of intentional overdose Luvox on the background of concomitant pharmacotherapy.

Treatment

There is no specific antidote. If overdose is recommended gastric lavage, which should take place as soon as possible after taking the medication, and symptomatic treatment. In addition, it is recommended that multiple receive activated charcoal. Enhanced diuresis or dialysis seem unreasonable.

Composition

Tablets, coated with film-coated, with a separation groove in the blisters, packed in cardboard packaging of 15 tablets of 50 mg fluvoksamina maleate, or in cardboard packaging of 15 tablets of 100 mg fluvoksamina maleate.

Storage conditions

Luvox tablets should be stored in a dry place inaccessible to children, protecting from direct sunlight at a temperature no higher than 250 C.

Keep the medicine out of reach of children!

Shelf life

3 years, subject to store undamaged in original packaging.

The drug can not be applied at the end of life.

Terms of leave from pharmacies

Prescription physician.

Similar posts: luvox medication

FDA APPROVES LUNG CANCER DRUG « AT YOUR Employment
Linda wrote in from Rogers, AR. She catches my show on KFAY 1030 AM. She is looking for some ways to make money at home. Shes heard quite a bit about the Google Home Business Kit. She would like more information, along with my opinion of it.
Google has a lot of cool services, Linda. But it doesnt offer a work-from-home kit. The sites promoting these kits simply capitalize on Googles name. That should be your first clue that something is wrong. The sites are full of unsubstantiated claims. They dont say whats in the kit. Nor do they tell you what type of work you would be doing. That is another hallmark of a scam.
I have a pretty good idea of whats in the kit. It will help you set up a site to sell the kit to more people. You may pay $30 for the kit. Or, you may only pay a few dollars for shipping and handling. Either way, youre enrolled in a monthly subscription. Good luck trying to cancel that!
I would stay away from this one. There are much better ways to make money from home.
Want to work from home? Start a blog or open an online store. Or, there are sites where you can sell your photos, crafts and music. Visit my Money Center to get started.
This isnt the only online scam going, of course.

Similar posts: cancer stages lung

Strain Guide » Blog Archive » Firm torturing calf muscle

2 Comments / by admin
My girlfriend, her Mom, Dad and I went grocery shopping at about 7pm Friday (its 2:15am Saturday now) When we got back I carried about 10-15 bags of groceries in with one hand. Upon setting the groceries down I felt a pain in the upper part of my spine and thought nothing of it. My girlfriend and I went in her room and laid down to watch a movie, I kept feeling the pain a little bit with certain movements I would make so I took 800mg of Ibuprofen. After-wards we went downstairs to eat dinner and I felt the pain throughout dinner. We went back upstairs and finished our movie. I went to go put another movie in and started getting the pains really bad so I decided to lay face down on the floor and try to keep my spine straight, it didnt help much. I also got a pain in my lungs twice (Im not sure if the incidents are related and Im a smoker of 7 years marijuana and cigarettes) Anyways, the pain in my spine occurs with certain arm and neck movements (mainly when I look down like Im reading a book) and it extends from the base of my neck to the bottom of my shoulder blades, not any lower at all. The pain in my lungs was a sharp pain, a pain Ive felt before because of inflammation of my lungs, the weird thing is I can take deep breathes and theres no lung pain or feeling what-so-ever. When I did get the lung pain it was accompanied by the spine pain. I just took 600mg of Ibuprofen and some Tylenol via my girlfriends Moms recommendation. I also had my girlfriend apply Mineral Ice (Icey Hot) to the area on my spine that hurts. Should I go to the hospital asap or would tomorrow be okay? If I do wait until tomorrow and the pain is gone, should I go anyways? Could this be pain from straining a muscle (I highly doubt its a muscle, it definitely feels like the bone is aching) or pulling something in my back? Please, no hypocondriacts. I dont need any more worry. I want serious, professional suggestions and opinions please. Thank you.
The Mineral Ice definitely seemed to help. Thanks for the answers you two. I think Ill go to sleep and get to a hospital first thing tomorrow for some x-rays. I also wont have a cigarette until then.
Well I went to the hospital. Turns out I have Pancreatitis. This question is closed, Ill give best answer to the first person that replied.

Similar posts: muscle relaxants

Prostate Problems:Prostate Disease,Symptoms,Treatment, More
Let me start out by giving my viewers the background of my initial signs of a prostate issue:

September, 2007:

I started having some very minor urination problems during this month. They were barely noticeable but more night-time bathroom trips slight burning during urination where the main signs. I started drinking more water thought this would clear things up.

October, 2007:

My symptoms started getting worse. I had more night-time bathroom trips burning during urination. I also started feeling like I was setting on a golf ball at times. I again started drinking extra water daily. I felt better for a short period of time but still symptoms where never gone.

November, 2007:

By this time, things were gradually getting worse. I was only drinking water green tea at this time. I had no other type fluids going into my body. My symptoms were just getting worse by the day.

December, 2007:

This was getting near holiday time I wasn't feeling well at all. My burning bathroom trips were more frequent. I then had additional symptoms of feeling tired depressed. I wasn't eating regularly my appetite was going south. I hadn't lost much weight at this time but was showing signs of trouble eating.

January, 2008:

I started feeling very down depressed. I couldn't do any setting for longer than 10-15 minutes at a time.I would break out into a sweat if I set too long would feel like I was going to faint. I still was in denial I guess but tried to keep going. I was not very active at all even though I had been active all my life. I was very depressed but still wasn't getting any help because of my denial about having a prostate issue. Men are sometimes too manly to admit there's something going on down there, right? I was starting to think the worse I was dead-set I had prostate cancer.

February, 2008:

I was getting much worse by this time was now suffering from fever chills to go along with all the other symptoms. I then decided it was time to finally try to figure pout what was going on with me. My wife had really fussed at me all the time to go to the doctor. However, I'm a man we don't admit there's a problem there like I said before.

March, 2008:

After researching on the net for days I decided to make a phone call to a local urologist office. I went to my first appointment on March 28th. I provided a urine sample to go along with blood work. The doctor then asked to do a Digital Rectal Exam(DRE) to check my prostate manually. The word "digital" here doesn't mean by a machine but by the doctor's finger. I knew this wasn't going to be any fun. Upon examination, the doctor stated that my prostate was "very enlarged" felt soft to the touch. This normally shows a prostate infection therefore he suggested treatment with antibiotics.

I was given a 3-week course of Doxycycline to treat the supposed infection. BTW, the PSA(Prostate Specific Antigen) test came back with a reading of 0.9 which is below normal for any prostate cancer. Normal is considered between 1.0-4.0 on a scale. Anything above 4.0 is considered abnormal but higher numbers are more serious like 10.0 or higher. That relieved me somewhat for a short time. I will cover this test in detailed later as well.

April, 2008:

After going through the 3-week treatment with antibiotics I did feel quite a bit better. However, about a week after the treatment stopped I started feeling bad again. I was getting back the frequent urination at night burning during urination along with the golf ball feeling from the testicle area. About 2 weeks later I was right back where I was before with pain from sitting depressed. I then said I'm gonna study on the net even more about this situation. Doctors like to throw antibiotics into our bodies for all sorts of health problems. Once studying more I was thinking that this wasn't going to make me better or at least allow me to manage my prostate problems.

May, 2008:

I decided I would give the urologist office another call for another appointment. However, I got so sick that I couldn't wait for that appointment had to make a trip to the ER. I was the sickest I had been now with nausea, pain, sweats, very depressed. The ER doctor stated that I had been on the wrong antibiotics changed it to an0ther in the same class. This was also a 3-week course treatment. I didn't keep my followup appointment with the urologist since I was back on antibiotics.

June, 2008:

Once the most recent course of antibiotics was finished I again started feeling bad. This was only about 4-5 days after the treatment stopped. I then started researching deeply on the net about my prostate problems. What I found out was that this was the typical protocol by doctor's for prostate infections. They rarely worked some people even suffered worse problems from antibiotics. I still decided to call the urologist office for an appointment. I went to this appointment on June 26. I again was diagnosed with an infection that more antibiotics was needed. I SAID NO THANKS THIS TIME! I told the doctor I was considering alternative treatments now instead of prescription meds.

July, 2008:

After extensive research I decided that I would give herbals a try to see if that route helped. I visited many sites researching the best herbs herbal brand name products to possibly try. I mean I spent hours daily trying to make sure that I didn't throw money away to these so called scammers. There are tons of products formulas to treat not only prostate disorders but many health-related problems. I didn't want to go with the wrong products. I found quite a few single supplements/herbs that I started using I will be going in detail on these in future writings. To be short at this time I started taking about 16 combination herbs supplements in the month of July.

August-October, 2008:

During these 3 months I kept at taking the herbs supplements on a regular basis. Boy, I was feeling like a new person compared to the feeling while on antibiotics. I still am only drinking filtered water green tea all during this time NOTHING else period. Another thing I need to mention is my DIET. This is also a big factor in managing prostate related illnesses.

I too will be going over my detailed diet in the future. One other thing is LIFE-STYLE change. I will cover all these things at a later time but right now I wanna just give the rundown of my prostate problems timing. By the end of October I was actually nearly 100% symptom free. I felt like I had my life back again wasn't worried now about prostate cancer.

November, 2008-present:

Now, I appear to have my life completely back with barely noticeable symptoms. Most of the time I don't even have any symptoms at all. Prostate infections are divided into several categories I will cover this in future articles. All prostate infections are called "prostatitis" but here is where they get divided into types. These will be covered later. I will provide links to many of the same sites I used will provide as much help for people that are experiencing the same awful medical problems I went through.

It's not something that any man wants to experience but maintaining prostate performance health will go a long way towards avoiding issues in the future also lead the ones suffering back to good health. Looking forward to posting more articles in the near future I will be back soon with more information. Thanks for reading have a great day.

Similar posts: prostate removal

Bipolar Symptoms In Children And Acquisition of knowledge Not To Use Bipolar

It was only fairly recently I rediscovered the joys of outdoor garden games. Like most people, when the sun makes an appearance Im out in the garden, deckchair assembled, slowly barbecuing myself whilst the children run around keeping me awake. But since discovering the delights of outdoor garden games, Im now joining my kids in keeping our neighbours awake.
Im well aware that over the years there are plenty of outdoor garden games we could have played football and rugby perhaps, with a little cricket or volleyball thrown in for good measure. But the trouble is that these games require more room than my garden can offer. Many people have the same problem, and the solution is either not to play these games, play them in reduced form or let the kids go off to the park whilst you sit contemplating the joys of having a family around you.
So what are the garden games that I am using now, and how do they differ from the larger games which are simply not practical in a standard family sized garden? Well, many of the games are traditional ones, such as skittles and quoits for example. My kids have been bowling of course, and are a good deal better at it than me. Having a wooden skittles set was a great idea. Its ideally suited to my garden, which is rather long but fairly narrow a perfect bowling alley in fact!
Quoits is a game I have heard of but never played before. Of course, its terribly simple, but deceptively difficult at the same time. We all became terribly competitive, and in the end it didnt seem to matter who won what was important was that we were playing as a family, having fun together, and not just sitting around.
Another couple of outdoor games I came across and which proved very successful are those games normally considered suitable for indoors. These included chess, draughts and noughts and crosses. Of course, these are much larger versions, with the chess pieces about the same size as the skittles. This meant that the whole family could walk right round the board and discuss moves. It may not have been the most energetic game, but in the hot weather none of us really fancied running anywhere!
The range of outdoor garden games is really quite surprising, with so many games I would simply not have even considered such as dominoes for example. With this version each domino was about the size of a shoebox, and the resulting game posed some particular challenges as the layout of the garden offered its own restrictions on positioning! What really struck me was just how simple it really was to get the whole family involved, playing together, rather than sitting in silence ignoring each other.
With several of the games being inflatable it meant that they took up almost no room in the shed, so storage wasnt a problem. All of the games came with racks, boxes or methods for packing them away easily and what was really good was that they are easily portable. Weve taken to carrying one or two with us on picnics, and often end up gathering interest from others as we fight out a game of draughts together after our cheese sandwiches!
I bought my outdoor garden games online I found a site which has a wide range of games, and they deliver free of charge too. Have a look on Cleverclicker.co.uk and enjoy your garden all over again.

Similar posts: dallas weight loss

Future pet: Sega Toys Dream Cat Cytherea

One day my best friend calls, her dalmation, Blackjack, has disappeared out of her fenced in yard. There are many things you can do to recover a lost dog that either ran away or worse, was stolen. First, look in every little nook and cranny of your house, you dog may have gotten spooked and is hiding, especially if you have a smaller dog. Second, call out to your pet, and maybe shake some food. Thirdly, roam around the neighborhood dropping off your phone number and pets information. Or make a quick flyer and place them around town. Fourth, display an article your dog is familiar with outside so they can smell home. Fifth, never be afraid to call vet clinics, police, lost and found ads and animal control. Lastly, go to the animal shelters and look at the animals yourself because your description and someone elses of the same animal may differ.
We searched high and low for Blackjack but sadly never got to bring him back home. We found him at a distant neighbors house, but when confronted, they said theyve owned the dog for years. To prevent losing your dog for good from theft, get an identification tag. Pet Skin Doctor highly recommends taking your dog to a vet that provides services such as placing a microchip or a tattoo on the leg with his permanent license number.

Similar posts: pet allergies

The Of medicine Quack: FDA Approves Lung Cancer Drug – Alimta from Lilly

article here that further collaboration on data between branches/offices and perhaps even patient data will be more accessible and afford the offices to make and project outcomes anticipated changes. Health Insurance lives by business intelligence, not by humans.
Heres the vision of the consortium from the website, no mention of taking care of people though through better healthcare, its emphasis is strong market relationshipssomewhat sounds like Wall Street to me.
Consortium Health Plans will be a key enabler of Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans' continued strong growth in national accounts by providing market intelligence, strong market relationships and leading-edge sales tools.
If you have never really seen some of the capabilities of what business intelligence software can provide it is astounding and you or me as a patient look like one big pie chart up on the computer screen as well as the traditional statistical data. All the complicated algorithms are also there to project what our future healthcare cost will be, but over the years information has been dirty to a degree so all of this may not be 100% correct. In this platform they are using some web 2.0 capabilities that also allows for synchronization at home level. Even though this is a less expensive way for them to do business, do you think premiums would reflect this, probably not.
The only defense one has with data is the personal health record as big conglomerates continue to tally up and add up the data they have on us, so if we dont have our own, we suffer and are at the mercy of what they have on file and present. When cost goes up, they will be able to more quickly adjust the premiums in an upward fashion and compare regions all over the system in a few seconds. The mission of the consortium from the website, still sounds like Wall Street to me, the position appears to be the big focus, and one other item to think about, wheres the individual here, it appears this is geared towards major companies.
The mission of Consortium Health Plans is to position Blue Cross Blue Shield as the carrier of choice for national accounts.
Guess individual humans dont account for much anymore..

Similar posts: cancer stages lung

Since the worlds first well-fixed lung transplant was performed in Canada 25 years ago, the number of lung transplants performed annually has grown significantly. A new report released today by the Canadian Institute for Health Bumf (CIHI) shows that lung transplants in Canada increased from 93 in 1997, to 171 in 2006, rising at a faster toll than solid organ transplants in shared (up 29% once again the word-for-word period).
The report, Treatment of End-Stage Publication Failure in Canada, 1997 to 2006, draws on data from CIHIs Canadian Monthly Replacement Communicate (CORR) to examine dialysis, transplantation and annual bestowal characteristics and trends in Canada over a 10-year period. In total, 1,222 lung transplants were performed in this power between 1997 and 2006. Patients receiving doppelgaenger-lung transplants accounted to 75% of the procedures performed in 2006, a number that more than doubled since 1997 (from 52 to 129).
The lung transplant landscape has evolved a big give out in a stunted span of time, offering a renewed sublet out on life to a growing number of Canadians with lung murrain, says Margaret Keresteci, CIHIs manager of Clinical Registries. Although these transplants are technically merest unyielding to behave, outcomes have improved significantly. Just a decade ago, the strong that a little one with cystic fibrosis would spend to notice his or her 18th birthday was doubtful, but transplantation has changed this reality. While the numbers endure rather small, lung transplants accept increased at a class greater than kidney, heart or liver transplants.
Survival rates persevere in to renovate
Outstanding a similar time configuration, the three-year survival rate appropriate for lung transplant recipients increased from 60% in 1997, to 80% in 2003.
There are several reasons why outcomes during lung resettle recipients must continued to improve, says Dr. Shaf Keshavjee, Maestro of the Toronto Lung Transplant Program at Toronto Universal Infirmary. In addition to advances in immunosuppression, better monthly preservation techniques have been developed and there with to be advancements in the management and monitoring of lung uproot recipients.
Canada a world commander
The worlds to begin successful lung displace was performed in Canada in 1983, followed by the first bilateral (or double-lung) shift in 1986. Canadas lung transplant experience is extraordinarily regarded internationally, and the countrys lung transplantation rate is 5.3 per million population (PMP), compared to 4.7 PMP in the United States and 2.9 PMP in France. Canadas success in lung transplantation is in part scheduled to the increase in living donors. Today in Canada, there are six lung displace programs in five provinces, two of which perform living donations.
Canada has lower transplantation rates than both the United States and France appropriate for other types of organs, such as heart transplants (5.4 PMP in Canada, versus 7.3 in the U.S. and 5.8 in France) and liver transplants (14.2 PMP in Canada, versus 22.2 in the U.S. and 16.7 in France).
Waiting times for transplants grow
Advances in treatment opened up lung transplants as a prospect for more patients, which led to a corresponding growth in the numeral of people waiting for transplantation. Over 10 years, the reckon of people waiting exchange for a lung transplant more than doubled, with 252 Canadians waiting to receive a transplant in 2006, compared to 119 in 1997. Between 1997 and 2006, 299 people died while waiting for a lung transplant in Canada.
End-stage process failure continues to baksheesh complex issues and challenges for Canadian clinicians, the healthiness care system and patients, says Keresteci. Treatment options are evolving, but only by way of the routine gleaning of data can sound tidings be produced. It is the earnest of this report to require such dope in an effort to improve the health of Canadians with end-lap daily failure.
Other highlights from Treatment of End-Stage Organ Failure in Canada, 1997 to 2006:
-	The amount number of solid organ transplants in Canada increased from 1,620 in 1997, to 2,087 in 2006.
-	There were an estimated 33,832 people with between-stage renal disease (ESRD), or kidney dead duck, in Canada at the end of 2006, an increase of 70% since 1997. Of these, 20,465 were on dialysis and 13,367 were living with a functioning kidney transfer.
-	Liver transplantation underwent tremendous alteration in approach that vaulted it to the forefront as the treatment of special fit end-contrive liver disease in Canada. There were
466 liver transplants performed in Canada in 2006, a 33% distend compared to 1997. Advances in treatment increased demand for liver transplants, with the number of patients waiting for a liver up from 42 to 129 down 10 years.
-	Between 1997 and 2006, 1,575 Canadians received a first heart transplant, and 58 were
re-transplanted. On average, there were 163 heart transplants performed each year in Canada. In 2006, there were 87 Canadians waiting through despite a focus relocate, with 13 deaths occurring while people were on the waiting rota. Between 1997 and 2006, the integer of patients awaiting heart transplants decreased 10%, while the number of deaths on the waiting bibliography decreased by more than half.
-	There were 603 pancreatic transplants performed in Canada in the last decade, two-thirds of which were concurrent pancreas - kidney transplants. The add up of Canadians waiting seeking simultaneous transplants peaked in 2001 (172), and dipped to 113 in 2006. Since 1997, the number of individuals waiting in the course of a one pancreas transplant increased from 8 to 63.
´-	Uncharitable intestine transplantation is an emerging and evolving field. Between 1988 and 2006, there were 45 procedures performed in Canada, with 53% of recipients younger than 18 years.
Here CIHI
The Canadian Institute for Well-being Information (CIHI) collects and analyzes information on health and health love in Canada and makes it publicly at ones fingertips. Canadas federal, provincial and territorial governments created CIHI as a not-for-profit, independent organization dedicated to forging a common come nigh to Canadian vigour information. CIHIs goal: to state look after convenient, exact and comparable word. CIHIs figures and reports nark on vigorousness policies, support the effective delivery of health services and advance awareness among Canadians of the factors that contribute to integrity healthiness.

Similar posts: health career agents

Blu-ray is a next-generation optical disc format, featuring a significant increase in storage capacity facilitating support for high definition (HD) video and audio. The introduction of high definition compatible technologies allows for full support of 720p, 1080i and 1080p HD video and establishes 7.1 audio mastering with the lossless DTS HD and Dolby TrueHD audio formats.

High definition video and audio offer an increase in clarity as less compression is required to store the data on the high capacity next-generation formats. To take advantage of HD video you will require a HD compatible television, and similarly a HD decoder for the lossless audio formats.

Similar posts: buy viagra uk

Stroke is a medical emergency. Know these warning signs of stroke and teach them to others. Every second counts: Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination Sudden, severe headache with no known cause If you or someone with you has one or more of these signs, don't delay! Immediately call 9-1-1 or the emergency medical services (EMS) number so an ambulance (ideally with advanced life support) can be sent for you. Also, check the time so you'll know when the first symptoms appeared. It's very important to take immediate action. If given within three hours of the start of symptoms, a clot-busting drug called tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) can reduce long-term disability for the most common type of stroke. tPA is the only FDA-approved medication for the treatment of stroke within three hours of stroke symptom onset. A TIA or transient ischemic attack is a "warning stroke" or "mini-stroke" that produces stroke-like symptoms but no lasting damage. Recognizing and treating TIAs can reduce your risk of a major stroke. The usual TIA symptoms are the same as those of stroke, only temporary. The short duration of these symptoms and lack of permanent brain injury is the main difference between TIA and stroke.

Similar posts: information on doxycycline
